I never go to the beach on the last day before heading home.
It makes me sad to have fresh memories of what I will be missing until I return…
…waking up at 5:00 am every day to watch the sky turn from deep black to cloud filled blue (see that rainbow?), observing people on the beach and waiting until my two “friends” tell me it’s time for breakfast;
…escaping in for a little A/C to have a breakfast with this view through the balcony door;
…heading in for lunch on the balcony accompanied by a tall cold glass of guanabana or guayaba;
…spending time on the beach in the afternoon for a slight change of pace;
…taking an afternoon nap and then concocting something dinner using Adobo, sofrito or Sazon;
(no pictures- I ate them 😆)
…having some locally made sangria or “dulces” as the sun goes down;
…and listening to the ocean in the dark.
Time to return to reality folks…
