Day One: Set Three Goals

Today’s assignment: consider what you want to accomplish with your blog. Write down three concrete goals.

For bonus points, write a post detailing your blog’s goals and publish it. Making your goals public ups your accountability. Your readers will cheer you on, and might even find ways to help you achieve your goals.

I talked about why and how I started blogging in my Meet Marquessa page. And now that I have been blogging for 4 months, I am starting to think that maybe, just maybe, a fiction focus may not be the best fit for my blog. But only time will tell and for now, I will roll with it.

With the Writing 101, Photo 101 and Blogging 101 challenges, I met the one and only goal I had set for myself, mainly getting the assignments done before midnight the following day.

With this new Blogging 201 challenge, my short term goals are:

1. To focus on honing my non-fiction writing skills with more short anecdotes or personal opinion pieces, all the while still posting an occasional fiction excerpt from the novel I am working on;

2. Increase connections with fellow bloggers, probably outside of the WordPress Reader since I am finding it very difficult to keep up with the blogs I follow in The Reader. I will be looking into other alternatives like RSS feeds, Feedly, Flipboard, or something that I find easier to use;

3. Increase my readership to 220 followers by August 31, 2015.

So cheers to new goals and onto Day 2 assignment!

Great blogs thrive because of comments and readership. I'd love to hear from you!
