Day Two: Audit Your Brand

Today’s assignment: Audit your brand — look at all the ways you communicate information about your blog to make sure they’re consistent and focused.

Through trial and error and the WP writing challenges, I tweaked a lot of little details on my blog, except for the whole Facebook Page thing which I am still unsure what I should with.

I am happy with my blog title, tagline and theme since I feel that they complement my blog’s intent.

My preference is and will always be “simplicity” when it comes to format, font, and color. I am using the same Simply Marquessa name and visual identity across social media for consistency so that is under control. Surely but slowly, I will wade a little deeper into the other social media waters but for now, my focus will be getting to know Twitter and reblogging items I find interesting. Feel free to “follow” me on Twitter or let me know and I will follow you!

As for making a change for this Day Two assignment, I am working on two changes to reinforce my blog:

1. I am getting into the habit of developing post titles that are more “catchy” to entice YOU to take the time to read until the end of my posts; and

2. I will be changing one of my Page titles from Fiction Flavor to The Story So Far. I think that it will better house and showcase the draft excerpt/samples that I am working on that are literally are part of my “story so far”.

Just as an FYI, the draft samples under that Page are duplicates of previous posts simply for ease of reference for you, the reader, to follow the progression of the storyline.

Ok folks, that’s enough homework for tonight!

  1. Good job! Yes, learning all the “in’s and out’s” is quiet a project! Yes, like the “The Story So Far” Page Title. Makes one want to go see what’s “…So Far.”:) Enjoyed reading your post, blessings, denise

Great blogs thrive because of comments and readership. I'd love to hear from you!
