In response to the Day 11 assignment, “Writing And Not Writing”:
What do you do when you’re not writing?
To be honest, I lead a pretty boring life that is quite busy. Then again, don’t we all to some degree?
When I’m not at my day job or helping out my folks, I’m either gardening (if it’s a sunny day), attempting to be a female version of Bob The Builder (if it’s gloomy day), being a part-time “tenant-whisperer” (if it’s the weekend) and now, bootcamp twice a week has been added to my agenda for a little added misery.
Nothing fancy, exciting or Hollywood-esque to see here folks.
I can’t really say that I “reset” and return to the dashboard “refreshed” when my daily routine involves going to bed too late (blame it on the writing) and when my weekly routine repeats as per what I just shared with you.
Could “boring” be the new black?
Hmm, I don’t think so.
What I have been doing to switch things up in my life over the past week is waking up at 6:00AM to write a little “something” before I start my day. Getting up early is something I only do voluntarily when I am on vacation so this new habit may be subconsciously due to trying to develop “a little quiet me time” healthier mindset.
I didn’t make a decision to do it, I’m just doing it. And not hitting the snooze button feels like a good “accomplishment” that I’m welcoming in my life right now.
My next target will be to roll out of bed in the morning twice a week to hit the treadmill (instead of writing) for some added exercise until I sift through my Xbox fitness games to find a best fit.
The next time we chat over another cup of coffee, I’ll try to remember to let you know how it went. 🙂
Additional task for the day:
Being a Libra, I am extremely indecisive (if you believe in astrology, I’ll blame it on that) so I am unashamedly copping out of this “task” by placing the onus on YOU. There are just too many great bloggers in the Writing 101 and Blogging 201 course that I would never be able to decide on who to contact.
If any one of you would like reach out to me to collaborate for this part of the assignment, feel free to get in touch via my new Contact Marquessa page.
Thanks Nick for the Contact page idea that I just added to my blog!
