#MusicMonday: “Old Skool Love” – Divine Brown

Many, many years ago, after I first heard this song on the radio, I immediately walked to the music store on my lunch hour and bought her self-titled CD. Back then, I had a “three good songs before I buy it” rule that Divine Brown made me break with just this one song! And I’m glad that I did because the entire CD is as good today as it was when it first came out.

My absolute favorite part of this in studio version video below is at 3:25…that’s all I’ll say for now.

My other favorites from other CDs include “Lay It on The Line” and the Chaka Khan-esque “Jumpstart“:

Amazing voice, talented Torontonian. You should check out her latest material on her website.

(And for those of you who are old enough to remember the Hugh Grant/Divine Brown fiasco way back when, this is not the same Divine Brown!

“There I go again
Thinkin’ about your lips
When I’m kissing him
There you go again
Throwin’ me back, makin’ me reminisce
And I know it’s wrong
Me holding on…”
