Just A Typical Day on The Beach video 2016 ©2016 Marquessa Matthews. All Rights Reserved.
If you were going to catch a flight and join me on this Enchanted Island, I’d tell you to pack light because if you are a beach bum like me, you will require little.
You’ll probably be in your swimsuit most of the time anyways so you might want to toss out half of the underwear and the other clothing you packed in your suitcase. There is a washer and dryer here so getting your things fresh and clean is not an issue.
I don’t know about you but I roll out of bed, throw on a pair of yoga pants and T-shirt over a bathing suit and head for a walk on the beach before having breakfast. Breakfast is always on the balcony and while having a nice cup of Yaucono coffee and some pan sobao, I make the only and most important decision of my day:
Do I spend the first half of the day at the pool? Or do I start the day at the beach?
Very tough First World decisions.
If you want and for a change of pace from the beach or pool, we could hop on a city bus for $0.75 and head to the Old Town. Once there, we could jump on the free tourist trolley, watch passengers spill out of their cruise ships, walk the cobblestone streets and enjoy the Paseo de la Princesa.
Or we could jump on another city bus and go shopping at Plaza Las Americas – I’m not sure if it’s still the largest shopping mall in the Caribbean but if you like to shop, you’ll probably enjoy it. But I would warn you that shopping is not my thing so I might roll with you once for that outing but after that, you’re on your own. I’ve got malls at home but no beaches so “beach” is my top priority.
Whatever we accomplished for the day, you won’t want the day to end because you will be feeling soooo relaxed. But you’ll get to do the exact same thing again tomorrow if you want so don’t worry.
We could head out for a bite to eat nearby since there are fast-food joints, authentic Puerto Rican restaurants and lots of chic restaurants. Or if you prefer, we could take a quick walk and grab some groceries from the 24 hour supermarket just around the corner. I’ll even splurge on the container of coconut flavored ice cream for dessert. I’ll leave the dinner decision to you – beach bums are flexible people.
An after dinner drink in the lobby bar where we could have some a few cocktails with coconut flavored Bacardi, maybe try our luck at one of the many casinos, go for a walk down the avenue or have a coffee while watching the ocean in the night sky…it’s all good with me.
