#Netflix Anyone?

It has been a long time since my last Netflix share, especially since I prefer to “listen” than watch. But I do like the convenience of Netflix and when I do, I usually gravitate to the less popular stuff.

I won’t be doing a “review” but if you are curious, check out this is sample of what I have watched over the past few months.

Wild Tales – six different stories that were totally off the chain and entertaining at the same time. If you don’t understand Spanish and don’t mind subtitles, it will probably keep your attention –  it was basically 6 stories on human behaviour (or lack thereof). The last scene of “Pasternak” made me close my eyes and “The Proposal” …well, you could see for yourself!

Chef – Sweet movie about rekindling relationships with family, friends and good food. I love food, the concept of food trucks and the pretty visuals of the cooking were sublime.

Stranger Things – I stumbled across this series and watched all episodes just before it started blowing up all over social media, which is funny because I’m usually way behind whatever is trending. It is reminiscent of the 1980s, a cross between The Goonies and E.T. and strangely addictive. Worth the hype. And I love how everything was so retro, from the kids using CB radios, corded telephones that hung on the kitchen wall, horrible wallpaper..

A Girl Like Her – about bullying and teenagers. So sad to realize that this is far from being fiction. If I had a pre-teenager, I would probably make them watch this movie and then have a discussion about the consequences of what bullying others can lead to. The movie had such a documentary feel.

Lila & Eve – Viola Davis & Jennifer Lopez make quite a destructive pair. I’m usually good at picking up the foreshadowing and hints in a movie but not in this one. I  watched this movie twice to catch all the clues I missed.

If you have watched any of these, tell me what you think!

  1. I watch too much television. But I’m sure it won’t surprise you to know that I’ve been re-watching every episode of Hawaii Five-0…can’t wait for the new season this fall. I love the show… but also, you know, eye candy. I’ve watched some episodes of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” which is quite funny. I haven’t watched many movies… I’ve used it more to catch up on some tv series from the start.

    • Sorry for the delay. Your comment was in my spam folder and I usually WP thought the app. Oh yes, The Killing was great. I watched them all over a few eeks. It was the first series I ever watched on Netflix! Enjoy!!!
