Hey you! How has the first week of 2017 been treating you?

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that I started my 52 Things In 52 Weeks challenge with a BANG!

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I’m posting random pictures related to my challenge…those gorgeous photos and videos from this past week will soon become my screensavers. There are two words that stands out for this past week – lush and quiet….

If we were having coffee right now I’d ask, “Am I the only one who thinks that life keeps getting faster and quicker but is feeling superficial, out of control and draining at times?”

When did life turn into endless to-do lists, expediency, trying to keep up with the Jones’ and #FOMO (fear of missing out)?

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that 2017 is going to be about slowing down, being more conscious of my time on this earth and savouring it more.

Look at what happened recently in Fort Lauderdale…

We only have one life.

And time will not stop for you and me.

  1. I couldn’t agree more! We’re all in such a rush to hurry up and do nothing – and by nothing I mean things that don’t truly add anything of value to life – ours or anyone else’s.

We talked about this during Christmas with our adult kids, and all committed to uncluttering schedules, slowing down, and doing more family- oriented things the way we did when they were young. Even if we can’t physically get together, we’ll shun text messages and emails for REAL stationary…and stamps, and write each other; or send a favorite CD, DVD, or book.

It made me smile to see them so passionate about making family-time a priority in their lives. Their father insists they got it from him.

    Of course…he’s wrong. 😀😋
