Aloha you!

If we were having coffee right now, you would probably tell me that you already knew about my recent trip to Hawaii because you saw the pretty pictures and short videos on my Instagram feed.

When the Hawaii opportunity presented itself, I jumped on it for three reasons:

(1) it would be warmer than the weather up here in the good old North;

(2) I spent weeks putting the house back together and needed a change of scenery and

(3) I could complete the “travel to a place I’ve never been before” on my 52 Things in 52 Weeks list.

Maui and Oahu? It was an amazing time with great weather, friendly people and I sampled some local-ish cuisine. After surviving 15 hours worth of flight time just to get there, whatever bug that I caught (Hawaii was getting hit with influenza), I was determined to make the most of it and I did.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to dunk a malasada from Leonard’s into a nice cup of Kona coffee while I was there but I do have a new appreciation for the Hawaii Five-O tv series (picture taken in lobby of pre-Maui hotel before the flight):

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you all about the trip in great detail but not right now.

Instead, I’ll write a few “Hawaii” posts, here and there, but will likely use it as the theme for April 2017’s A to Z Challenge

In the meantime, you can admire the photos below and for more, check out the rest of them on Instagram.

Mahalo!
