One taste of her on my lips would be like poison.
And if I kissed her, I knew that it would be the end of me. Every inch of me wanted and needed her but I didn’t dare touch her.
I imagined making love to her and whispering “amarte es un placer” in her ear.
The warmth of her soul radiated into me as I sat next to her on the pier. She gazed into the darkness, one leg tucked securely underneath her while the other dangled in the water. The wind was strong and whipped her dark curls wildly in all directions. She didn’t care enough to brush them out of her face and I was more than tempted to do it for her. But I kept my hands to myself.
I turned my face to avoid the stifling wind, giving me a perfect excuse to study her closely. I followed her gaze that was focused on the waves and then on the stars chaperoning us. We both watched the sunrise begin its battle against the darkness. She was drowning deep in thought.
“What are you thinking about?”
A smile danced on her lips and I wished that she would stop because when she did, all I could think of was how much I wanted to taste her.
“This is paradise.”
She was “real” with me – I could feel it deep in my core. I refused to heed their warnings about her. I needed to trust my instincts because they almost never led me astray.
“Why did you choose to come here?”
I was still trying to wrap my head around how the fates had conspired to bring her to me. A choice she had made from thousands of miles away, a promise I had made from my enchanted island and the magic of serendipity…
