All I Ask … #writerwednesday #writing #writerslife

My blog has been an “award free” zone for a few years now.

Being “nominated” for “awards” and answering a list of questions from other bloggers was a great way to get to know each other and I always always, always appreciated the lovely gesture.

What I didn’t enjoy was answering a long laundry list of question because in addition to being time consuming, they took time away from other writing challenges and usually had me stumped on some of the questions.

So on that note, I’m opening up the floor to you.

If you’d like to get to know me better, feel free to ask me a question or two about writing in general, my likes and dislikes, questions about stuff that I have written…you get the picture. And I’ll also be picking some questions from past comments.

Julie from Facets Of A Muse included me in a “nomination” post and though I won’t follow the “nomination rules”, I will answer one of her questions in a few days as well as a few others I’ve received.

Have a great day and I’m leaving you on a “Bruno” musical note!

I absolutely ADORE this song and the “feels” in these lyrics are amazing (of course, co-written by Bruno Mars with Adele).

This song is on my “inspiration” list for when I get back to Tyler and Delaney.

  1. Congrats to you, Marquessa! Any award you receive is well deserved.

My question – as much as I loathe labels, we have to put one on our work to find an audience of readers. What genre do you feel your writings fall into?

I’m also honored by the awards but the time required is mind-numbing. Get two or three in a week and you can fall behind on any ‘schedule’ you’re attempting to follow. Also don’t understand why it needs to be ELEVEN or FIFTEEN bloggers who have to be nominated.

Enjoy the rest of your week. I’m having BBQ for breakfast! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

    • BBQ for breakfast? I need to stop by your place. That’s better than remicrowaved pizza!๐Ÿ˜† To answer your question, which I will convert into a separate post, from the research I’ve done, I think my genre is women’s fiction with strong romantic elements. I’m not one who always needs the HEA but I do like HFN. I also like “realism” like what you create in your books. Romance requires that love be the focus and that’s not always what I want. It becomes more complicated because I want to include the male viewpoint too so would it still be women’s fiction??? See what you did now? I’m all confused!๐Ÿ˜†

  2. Marquessa, I feel like we went to “blogging school” together lol because I was about to say remember when we used to do those challenges??? Yes, they are time consuming and that’s why I don’t do them anymore too.

With that said, here’s my question: What was your favorite vacay of all time?

    • Lol! We DID go to blogging school together, didn’t we? And now you are a published diva author!

Your question is an easy and difficult one (that I may use for a future post). You know that I love the beach but my favorite vacation of all time was more about the “experience” than the “location”. It was the first solo trip I took down South. Two weeks on my own, a stone’s throw away from the beach, a penthouse view and simply “being still”. I did absolutely nothing “exciting” but it was a thrill to not compromise on anything, do what I wanted when I wanted to do something if I wanted to do it in the first place. ๐Ÿ™‚ I still smile when I think about the one day when it was over 40C outside and I stayed in bed watching movies and enjoying the air conditioning. Sounds boring but it was heaven to me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Great blogs thrive because of comments and readership. I'd love to hear from you!
