I write because …

I write because …
…I locked my favorite pen away many years ago and chose to forget where I kept the key. And now that I have rediscovered it, I’ll never lock it away again;
…The stories and characters that live in me need to be set free;
…I love being the puppet master to what my characters don’t say and don’t do;
…Writing is a pure and simple pleasure that simultaneously makes time stand still and the hours fly by;
…Writing soothes and quiets my soul.
I write because life is just a story and I’ve got a pen.

You really cannot silence those stories inside your head. I’m glad you let them out. 🙂

I write for the joy it brings me in sharing the silly anecdotes of my day to day life… to document my journey in this world so that I can reflect on days past and on what is yet to come.

Writing…It’s my weapon of choice. It’s therapeutic, necessary, liberating and a language I enjoy speaking…

This brings back memories. I think it’s from Blogging 101 or so, where we met, right?

That’s how I felt about writing, now I’m stuck in an everlasting writer’s block hoping for the day I rediscover my passion.

Some of the best writer’s say that you should NOT wait to rediscover it. If you have the time, give a listen to Sara Werner’s podcast Write Now – she has a few great talks on that! 🙂

I love this! I love how you put your words together.
I write because my brain needs relief from all the stories and ideas being crowded inside. I write because it calms my spirit and it’s my passion. I live and breathe it.

Yeah, I would agree and add that I wouldn’t be able to breathe without writing.

i write because i love the process of creating something, of having my ideas flow onto the page (or screen!)

The screen? Now, that would be awesome!

I write to silence the incessant voices. The stories, the alter-egos, the lives never lived…
I write because it encapsulates the beauty and the darkness that’s both within my mind and without; to be seen all around us.
Writing, to me, is more than just a hobby. It’s more than just a prospective career. It’s everything and then some more.
Writing is my life.
