#SongLyricSunday: “Bad Liar” – Selena Gomez #musicchallenge

This week’s prompt for #SongLyricSunday Challenge is “Pretending“.

Click here for more details on this challenge.

I’ll be honest – this song is not part of my music collection.

But the “pretending” going on in this “Bad Liar” by Selena Gomez video caught my attention at the twist ending.

I see how your attention builds
It’s like looking in a mirror
Your touch like a happy pill
But still all we do is fear
What could possibly happen next?
Can we focus on the love?
Paint my kiss across your chest
If you’re the art, I’ll be the brush
Ooh you’re taking up a fraction of my mind
Ooh every time I watch you serpentine
(partial lyrics)
Songwriters: Chris Franz / David Byrne / Ian Kirkpatrick / Julia Michaels / Justin Tranter / Selena Marie Gomez / Tina Weymouth

  1. I’m not sure if this fits the bill but here it is anyway …

To me is all about a failed attempt to lie to oneself when the heart has taken a mortal blow

“What can I say no you’re going away?
Every word I can say has been said
What can I do now that I’m losing you?
Should I play being cool or play dead?

    I can do anything
I can dance I can sing
I can dream of what might have been
    I can do anything

They keep telling me that at last I am free
That at least now my time is my own
At first it was true. I could do without you
But my own time is now spent alone

    I can do anything
I can dance I can sing
I can dream of what might have been
    I can do anything

    1. Thanks Richmond. However, if you would like to participate in the SLS challenge, you should do so directly on “This Thing Called Life One Word At A Time” – the “rules” are listed there . The challenge was not created by me so my post was simply my participation. Cheers!
