A blogger friend reminded me about the A to Z Challenge in April. The challenge completely slipped my mind.

I’ve been successful at the last two A to Z’s but last year’s exhausted me, pushing myself to write each next installment before midnight.

Readers told me they enjoyed it and I liked the end result though I had no clue what I would write next for “Living To Die“.

But this April, I want to do something “less fiction” and more “creative non-fiction”. Short pieces that will make you think but I have no ideas for a theme or what words to use for my alphabet.

This is where I need your help.

If you are reading this right now, you likely know me and my writing style.

Please pitch me some ideas. Pretty please?

If you have never done the A to Z Challenge, I would encourage you to participate. You’ll read some great posts and make lots of new blogger-friends.

M xoxo

  1. Thanks for posting this! I’d thought about participating but couldn’t find the site! 😁

A theme for you? That’s a toughie! You’re great with the human psyche – unspoken words? Missed opportunities? Do-overs? Taking the road less traveled?

    Did I help? 😁

    Now. *I* need a theme! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜›

  2. Hmm maybe something to do with travelling..? every letter denoting something!
Things that you love…? Or things that inspire you or things that you use everyday but don’t actually realise how important they are… like shoe lace,pins.. i don’t know..
Hope you do get an idea because i’m in love with your A-Z challenges!! ❀

  3. You know!!!!! I have lowkey been thinking about this too. I participated last year and I will love to try again this year….I’m sure the idea will come just keep playing around with what you love to write about. Can’t wait for April…Literally!!!!

  4. I want to do this again, too. It will be my third year and I enjoy it… mostly. Until I get frustrated because I can’t write anything. Last year, I did 2 themes which was ridiculous. I will NOT be doing that again. But I have no idea what I’m going to do this year.

I’m afraid I’m pretty useless with suggestions. I loved your story last year but I have absolutely no idea how you managed that! Everything I think of is kind of too serious… like all of my bad decisions… things I wish I could change… stuff like that. I don’t want to feel like crap the whole month! Maybe a random word each day for each letter and then write anything inspired by that word? Like a prompt (I still hate that word.) But that seems like the easy way out… it’s kind of a non-theme.

The first year, I started off thinking small… each post would be small. But they all turned into poems because that’s what I was writing a lot of at the time. I could maybe do that again but I don’t want to repeat myself…

    Sorry… I’m no help… for you or for me! I’m just rambling… πŸ™‚

  5. I have to agree with what was said before, travel would be a great theme! I think you kinda did that last year, using Hawaii as inspiration. You could also do writer advice, or woman to woman lifestyle/dating advice, or spend the month talking about yourself (like those “get to know me” posts you occasionally do) April is also NaPoWriMo. You could use the A to Z Challenge to dabble in some poetry writing.

      1. Yes, but I’m taking it easy. I’ll probably do short-short fiction, like my BAR-a-thon. My theme kinda just fell into my lap one day when I was cleaning up my blog. It involves post tags, but that’s all the hints I’m giving until reveal day. πŸ˜‰ Oh, btw, I’m so slow, but I just noticed you changed your site title. I like it!
